Have you ever wondered how to use foundation primer?  Maybe you haven’t tried it yet and want to know what it does.  If this is your first time exploring the world of face primers, you’re probably wondering how the heck you use them.

Don’t worry, I’m here to show you exactly how to use foundation primer like a pro!

Why Use Makeup Primer?

First of all, what’s the big deal anyway?  Why use makeup primer in the first place?  Well I’m glad you asked.

Basically, foundation primer goes on before your foundation.  It creates a smoother canvas for your  foundation, and also helps it adhere better to your face.  Many primers will also help absorb excess oil, which helps your foundation look fresher longer.

Foundation primer also helps blur imperfections and minimize pores, helping your foundation look even more flawless.

How To Apply Makeup Primer

Step 1

Add some primer to your fingertips.  You’ll apply your primer after you’ve completed your skincare routine.

Step 2

Apply the primer to your clean skin by rubbing it in gently with your fingertips.  You can apply it to your entire skin, or only on the areas you think you need it.  It’s really up to you.  I start at the center of my face and work my way out.

You do not need a ton of primer.  Only apply a light layer.

Step 3

Once it’s been applied, wait a minute or two for the primer to dry.  Then you can start applying your foundation as usual.  That’s it.  Now you know how to use foundation primer!  Pretty easy, right?

It’s A Crime Not To Prime!

You should notice your foundation applies more smoothly after you’ve used primer.  It also just looks better in my opinion.

So the next time you reach for your bottle of foundation, don’t forget to apply that primer.  Because, well, it’s a crime not to prime 😉
