Making Faces

This one is by makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin and I love it.  He goes over the basics of applying makeup and shares some amazing tips and tricks that can help you look flawless.  Once you get through the basics, he shows you how to use those these techniques to create different looks.

Face Forward

Want more from Kevyn Aucoin?  Face Forward is awesome because it gives you step by step guides on how to recreate certain celebrity looks.  It’s great if you’re a beginner who already understands the basics of makeup though, so keep that in mind.

The paperback version of this book is not that expensive either!

Jemma Kidd Make-Up Secrets

I like Jemma Kidd’s Make-Up Secrets because it’s broken up into two parts.  The first part goes over different makeup products and  how to apply them.  The second part covers different beauty dilemmas and their solutions.
