The Best Long Wear Foundation For Oily Skin
If you have oily skin like me, you’re probably on a constant search for the best long wear foundation. Long wear foundations are great for oily skin. The problem with a regular foundation is that as soon as your skin starts getting oily, the foundation starts to sort of melt off or move around. Sooo not cool.
I like long wear foundations because although your skin might still get oily at some point, the foundation itself stays put.
What’s The Best Long Wear Foundation For Oily Skin?
NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
The Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is the best long wear foundation I’ve used so far.
This foundation will stay put! I am constantly reaching for this whenever I have an event where I need my foundation to last a long time.
The Test
I tested the foundation for 10 hours. On a normal day I would blot, but for the purpose of the test I did not blot or use a setting spray.
As you can see in the picture on the right, it held up really nicely. Obviously I’m shiny by this point, but that’s to be expected after 10 hours of no blotting! The point is, the foundation is still going strong.
So Lightweight You Forget You’re Wearing It
This is one of the most lightweight foundations I have ever tried. It never feels heavy on my skin. Sometimes I forget I’m even wearing it.
The Best Summer Foundation For Oily Skin
Because it’s lightweight and long-wearing , it makes a great foundation for the hot summer months. I’ve worn it to baseball games, football games, and even the beach.
It’s a great option when traveling to warmer climates too. Just make sure you pair it with a great setting powder.
It does not contain SPF though, so make sure you use a sunscreen.
I like pairing the best long wear foundation with the best oil control face powder!
A Full Coverage Foundation That’s Perfect For Special Events
Even though it’s lightweight, it also happens to be a full-coverage foundation. So this makes it a great option for special occasions. It photographs beautifully and since it has no SPF, it won’t give you that dreaded white cast.
The Flash Photography Test
I tested it with a point-and shoot camera in a pitch-black room. I am wearing just the foundation in this shade. As you can see, there is no white cast. Woo-hoo!

A Natural Finish Foundation
It’s not too matte, not too dewey. It’s like your own skin, but better. I find that I can achieve a more natural look when I use one pump.
Does It Settle Into Pores Or Fine Lines?
I really love that this foundation does not settle into pores or fine lines. There is something almost magical about the way it sits on my skin. It’s like it moves with it, preventing it from forming little creases around my usual trouble spots (like my laugh lines).
What Primer Should You Use With It?
For the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, I like to use the Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer.
I find this to be a perfect combo for a beautiful, smooth finish.

Oil & Fragrance Free Foundation
This foundation is oil and fragrance free. I personally hate fragrance anywhere near my face, so this is a big plus for me.
Migraine anyone?
Any Cons?
Sometimes it looks a little powdery when you first apply it. To get rid of the powdery look, I just spritz my face with a good makeup spray.
It also has a very watery consistency. As soon as I pump it, the foundation will start running down my fingers. That thin, watery consistency is probably what keeps it feeling so lightweight though.
A Great Overall Foundation
All in all, the pros outweigh the cons. I really love this foundation. Not only is it the best long wear foundation for oily skin, it’s a great all around foundation!
