L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara Primer
The L’oreal Mascara Primer
Do you have wimpy natural lashes? Yea, I feel your pain, girlfriend. I wasn’t blessed with long, beautiful, thick lashes either. Several years ago I discovered fake lashes and fell in love. But I don’t necessarily want to wear them every single day. There are days where I just want my own lashes to pop.
Thankfully, I stumbled upon the L’oreal mascara primer and it has been the answer to my eyelash prayers!
What Does Eyelash Primer Do?
Similar to a face primer, eyelash primer is made to enhance and extend the wear of your mascara. The L’oreal Voluminous Lash Primer also intensifies your lashes by adding more volume and length. The results are thicker, longer, amplified lashes that give a similar effect to fake lashes (or as close as you can get with itty-bitty lashes like mine).
How Do You Apply The L’oreal Voluminous Mascara Primer?
The best way to apply the L’oreal mascara primer is to do one eye at a time. You do not want to allow it to dry completely before adding mascara because it won’t adhere to it as well.
First, apply the primer just like you would mascara. Start from the base and work your way up to the tips, covering your entire lashes until they are white. I like to do two layers for a more dramatic look. If it starts getting clumpy, run a lash comb through your lashes before moving to the next step.
Once you have finished applying the primer, go ahead and apply your mascara until you completely cover the white. Voila! You should now have more voluptuous lashes!
For an ultra-intense effect, I like pairing this with THE BLACKEST MASCARA EVER!
So Does The L’oreal Mascara Primer Actually Work?
Well after testing it out for several weeks, I’m happy to report that it does work. I certainly do notice a difference. My lashes look a lot bigger when I use this primer. Take a look at the comparison below.
THE TEST
My lashes happen to be very short and thin, so this certainly amplifies the look. I can only imagine how amazing this would work for someone who already has naturally long lashes!
Is It Waterproof And Does It Hold A Curl?
Although I have used this with waterproof mascara, the primer itself is not waterproof. As for its curl-holding capabilities, it’s ok. It holds a little curl, just not the dramatic curl I like.
Any Cons?
Ok, here’s the deal. If you apply more than one layer, it can get clumpy. Now I don’t mind this so much. My natural lashes are so freakin’ unspectacular that I’ll take anything to make them look bigger, even a little clumpiness! However, if you hate that, then a lash comb will be your best friend. You can also use a clean mascara wand to brush out any clumps.
A Great Drugstore Mascara Primer
Overall, the L’OREAL mascara primer is pretty awesome. It boosts your mascara to deliver bigger, thicker lashes. I think this is great for those occassions when you just don’t feel like wearing fake lashes. The best part is, it’s affordable!
So, if you’re looking to give your lil’ lashes a boost, this primer won’t disappoint!

So I tried this primer after curling my lashes and it makes my eyelashes straight! I use it with the voluminous mascara carbon black so it’s not the mascara. How do I keep my eyelashes curled using this primer? I don’t have the problem with other mascaras without the primer

Try applying less of the primer so it doesn’t weigh your lashes down. Also, you can curl your lashes after you’ve applied the primer and mascara. Hope this helps! 🙂
