So let me tell you a little story.  A few months ago I went to Dominican Republic to attend a wedding.  I had the perfect dress picked out.  It was long, it was flowing, and it was yellow.  Not only did I have a hard time figuring out what color shoes I should wear, but I found myself wondering how the heck do you do your makeup for a yellow dress??

Does that ever happen to you?  I was feeling like I needed to make sure my makeup didn’t clash with my outfit.  Yellow can be a difficult color to wear, and your makeup could make or break the look.  But no worries, I figured out a nice look that is sure to go with any yellow dress!

How To Do Your Makeup For A Yellow Dress

I’m not gonna go to much into the base.  You do your base how you normally do it.  I like to use a good long wear foundation with a really good oil control powder.

Eye Makeup For Yellow Dress

I find that golden tones seem to work well with a yellow dress.  A gold eyeshadow on the lid with a golden tone brown on the crease is what I did for my makeup.  I used this palette to create my soft eye makeup.

You can line your eyes and add mascara as you like.  I always go with a winged eyeliner look using my favorite eyeliner pen.  I brighten up the eyes by lining the waterline with a nude pencil.

For mascara I like using a really black mascara.  If this is more of an evening look, you can apply some false eyelashes.  I used these lashes for my look.

Oh and don’t forget to fill in your eyebrows too!

So for blush, I recommend a natural beige blush that has gold pearl.  Mac’s Mineralize blush in Warm Soul is perfect for this.

Lips

Last, but not least, are the lips.  You could go with a neutral shade, or add a little color.  I decided to add a bright, peachy liner and I toned it down with a nude lipstick.
